Margaret is a self-taught artist born near San Francisco, California in 1972. After a zigzag of address changes through the country, she now resides on the East Coast in Charleston, South Carolina.

The choice to be "green" was naturally ingrained in her since childhood. However, at that time it wasn't called "green". She was simply taught to value a hard earned dollar and not be wasteful and apathetic. Upon meeting her future husband, it made perfect sense to her when he showed her that more could be done. The two have been conscientiously conserving resources and recycling whenever possible since the beginning of their relationship.

Ecolibrio was born in 2006 after her husband handed her a bag of wires and simply stated, "I know you like to make things, so maybe you can do something with these." She immediately thought, "accessories". She has created the techniques and designs as she goes along, inspired by her friends and family, her love of music and culture, and her desire to be fabulous.
